Tornado 2010

A tornado hit Park Slope yesterday!! It was only drizzling when I got off the subway but it suddenly turned into full blown wind, downpour, and thunder/lightening while I was walking to Maya's school. There were trees down everywhere and debris flying all over the place.

Mike's 34th Birthday

We had a picnic in Prospect Park for Mike's birthday. It was a beautiful day.

Potty Training

Maya has been doing pretty well with potty training. We hear she goes on the toilet at school, but not so much at home. When she does go at home, she insists on sitting on the toilet for a loooong time reading many many books. Here, she is reading about Dora using the toilet.

Labor Day Weekend 2010

We had a great few days off for Labor Day weekend. We recently moved into a new apartment, and did a lot of unpacking, but also went to the zoo, playground, and saw some of Maya's friends.

We spent Saturday afternoon at our friends Briney and Ben's parents' house in CT. Maya loved swimming in the pool and playing with Ella.

Maya loved all the rides at Sesame Place, as well as the Parade and the Show we watched. But she was absolutely terrified of meeting Elmo.

Despite her crying about taking a photo with Elmo, she said "bye elmo" when we were done.
